Don’t try this at home, people. Trust me.

I’m becoming more and more of an online guy. No that doesn’t mean my internet profile is gaining any semblance of popularity, nor does it mean that I am slowly but surely being absorbed into the Matrix.
Sorry, guys…
I am finding that I use online tools more and more to do the stuff I have always [...]

Interesting day today. Drove through the hinterlands of Nova Scotia to attend a planning meeting for MYC09 in Truro, NS. Not my favourite drive, and (sorry Truro-ites) not my favourite community. Great meeting though. Got lots of things accomplished.
MYC09 is shaping up to be a blast! After a hiatus, we’re returning to the model of [...]

It’s officially over. Winter 2008 has come and gone. The days are getting longer now, and there’s a definite strengthening of the sun’s rays, and…I heard the first singing of birds when I went outside for lunch!! Spring is here!
Friday ramblings before I head home:
Looking forward to a date night with Heather…Don’t call/text me, MIKE!

Ignatius from travis hawkins on Vimeo.
I laughed out loud watching this video! Working with students is about as rewarding a career you can ever have, but it can be easy to get caught up in the comparison game.
My youth group isn’t as big as the youth group down the highway.
They’ve got a flashy website.
They’ve got [...]

GACK! Feeling bad about last night’s youth. I wasn’t ‘on’ and gave one of the most boring talks of all time! Sorry guys! I allowed myself to get a little distracted this week—won’t happen again! However, in spite of my bumbling, Jesus did something amazing! (keep reading…)
Tried a DDR alternative: Dance Praise. The kids seemed [...]
We All Need Some Quiet Time

This inspiring video reminded me of my need to get alone with God. To get quiet. To sit down in His presence and do nothing more than be with Him.
When was the last time you got alone and quiet?
Thanks, MarkO for posting this link.

Just finished up our guys & girls series last night @ Soul Purpose. We took the month of February (added a couple of weeks because of a snow storm and March Break) to talk with students about the whole topic of relationships, love, dating, and yes, even sex.
22 young people made a pledge to stay [...]

Yesterday was a pretty cool day!
I had the privilege of baptizing some of our youth & young adults! Boo-yah!!
It is one of the highlights of ministry to stand in the water beside people who have experienced the life-changing grace of God, and are ready to do anything for Him! That never gets old!!!
In my former [...]

What makes you stand out from the crowd? Why should I believe you are going to make a difference?
Come back to my childhood playground days…When side we’re being picked for gym class, different strategies were employed.
Pick the cute girl (even though she couldn’t catch a ball to save her life, but maybe she’ll notice you).
Pick [...]
