Da, da–da, da-da, da…Monday, Monday…
Quick mind-dump:
- The snow is melting! The snow is melting! When we arrived in Moncton, we were overwhelmed with the amount of snow on the ground (coming from Saint John which had really nothing on the ground…). And, yes I know Moncton got off easy compared with some of the northern NB communities, but still! I was rethinking this call to Nineveh! I can see more and more of the backyard now…and all the little treats left behind by our landlord’s doggy. Ah, spring!
- Had a good time with the GT community this weekend! Cal Smith from CMI knocked our socks off with his presentation, Genesis: the Missing Link. Cool stuff. And I bought Nahum a T-Rex tooth for his birthday. Great altar time last night, capped off with a fantastic get-together at our place with the young adults! Full house, good food, good times.
- Spent too much time at the garage this morning. Got the van serviced, and was impressed with the staff I had to interact with while I was there. I’ve been to a fair number of car dealerships, and not all of them are on my ‘list of recommended businesses‘. But these guys are good. I was impressed with the fact that even though they were obviously busy, they treated me like I was their most important customer that day. I didn’t feel like a number or an interruption. Makes me want to reexamine how we treat people at church. We’re busy, yeah, but how do people feel when they meet us? Do we convey to others that they’re important or a bother??
